Photo of the Day: Lettuce Everywhere

Water lettuce so thick you can barely see the water. That is what happened to this waterway at Lemon Bay Preserve. This invasive water plant rapidly reproduces and in just a short period of time, overtakes the water surface. While it is unsafe for human consumption, the water lettuce is a popular food source for Manatees. (Photo: June 13, 2015)
