Zoo babies are an integral part of the Species Survival Plan in which zoos partner to ensure the survival of endangered species through breeding programs. When hiking in the wild, be sure to be aware of your surroundings and watch where you step. You never know what might be camouflaged in the forest floor. Like this Cottonmouth here, its markings help it hide so it remain safe and also to camouflage to strike prey.
