Sarasota, Florida: A production crew from the Travel Channel made a visit to the Word’s Best Beach, Siesta Beach, to film a new reality show. Sand Wars puts the creative skills of the competitors to the test as they race the clock and each other. The pairs of sculptures do battle against their opponents as they race the clock to finish their masterpiece before time runs out. Once time has expired, the audience gets the opportunity to vote for their favorite. The team with the lowest number of votes is eliminated and has a front row seat while a Hollywood pyrotechnics team explodes their sculpture and reduces it to a pile of sand. Each round, the stakes get higher and the challenge gets tougher with the winner walking away with $10,000. Sand Wars is scheduled to premier on the Travel Channel in 2012.
