Black Mountain Overlook Trail: A Quiet View into God’s Creation

Tucked away in the peaceful hills near Crossville, Tennessee, the Black Mountain Overlook Trail is one of those hidden places that reminds you just how powerful simplicity can be. It’s not a long or difficult hike, but what waits at the end makes every step meaningful. The trail begins quietly, winding through a canopy of trees that filter the sunlight into soft, dancing patterns along the forest floor. There’s a stillness here—broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or birdsong—that invites you to slow down. It’s the kind of place where distractions fade and your thoughts begin to settle. Deer are herbivores and can be seen grazing on the grasses, leaves and other plants found in the forest.  This White Tail Deer was seen at the entrance to the Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, Tennessee.
