The Wandering Disciple

Sarasota, Florida: After taking a position with the fire department at neighboring Southwest Florida International Airport, I have not been back to my home airport Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in quite some time. This weekend I found myself in Sarasota and made a stop by SRQ. Runway 14 was active and I went to my usual spot near the approach end of 14 and spent about an hour photographing movements. A US Air flight arrives at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport as another departs during the lunch time rush of air traffic.  US Airways provides five flights a day from SRQ using US Airways Express carriers like Republic Airways, Mesa Airlines, PSA and during peak season their own aircraft.  Together these carriers provide Sarasota travelers with a connection to Charlotte and Washington DC.  (Photo: October 31, 2013)

The 400th E-Jet is seen on departure from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Embraer rolled its historic 400th E-Jet off the assembly line in June of 2008. The E-175 ordered by Republic Airlines and flies as a US Airways Express partner. Republic Airlines features the largest fleet of E-Jets with 110 in their fleet alone. (Photo: December 20, 2011)

Republic Airlines is a regional airline based out of Indianapolis that operates service for US Airways Express (pictured here) and Frontier Airlines. They operate a fleet of 85 aircraft that call upon almost a hundred airports in the United States and Canada. (November 21, 2011)
