This may look like a bunch of seaweed but its actually a living sea creature. The Leafy Sea Dragon is one of the seas more unusual creatures. Dragons Under the Sea at the Florida Aquarium is an exhibit dedicated to these interesting sea animals. The Florida Aquarium located by the Port of Tampa is home to many forms of sea life. An RC-12 Guardrail performs a touch and go maneuver at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The RC-12 Guardrail is a modified version of the C-12 Huron which is based on the civilian Beechcraft 1900. Here you will find the Conservation Station where you can take an inside look at the day to day operations needed to keep the animals healthy. The Innoventions Pavilion at Epcot is one of the most overlooked attractions within the park. "Where's The Fire" pictured here is just one of the many topics you can learn about within the pavilion. It teaches you about fire safety and how to stay safe within your home. Opened in 1994, Innoventions is home to thirteen different hands-on exhibits that teach you about various topics such as safe habits, protecting the environment, storm safety, fire safety, technology and much more. Timothy Q Mouse stands high above Dumbo the Flying Elephant waving the magic feather and commanding the elephants to fly. Opened in 1971, Dumbo the Flying Elephant is one most popular children's ride in the park and the centerpiece of Fantasyland. The ride recently underwent a transformation as it was relocated to the Storybook Circuse portion of the Fantasyland Expansion. The move allowed the ride to double in size and hopefully reduce the long wait time associated with the original ride. (Photo: January 5, 2008)

Venice Armed Forces Day

Venice, Florida: The City of Venice continued their 85th Anniversary by hosting Armed Forces Day at the Venice Municipal Airport. The event showcased the city’s importance as a military base during World War II. The event kicked off with a static air show at the Venice Municipal Airport. The show featured classic cars as well as a few vintage aircraft. Included in the display were the Stearman Model 75, Stearman PT-17, Cessna Skymaster and the North American Navion to name a few. It also showcased the history of the base. Afterwards the event moved over to the former Officer’s Club for a 40’s dance. Venice’s history in military aviation began in 1941 when the citizens of Venice petition Washington DC to open a base in Venice by donating 3,000 acres of land to the federal government. The War Department agreed and eventually opened the US Army Air Base. The Third Air Force worked out of the base during World War II. The base was decommissioned in 1946 following the end of...

No need to adjust your computer screen and no your eyes aren't deceiving you. That is an upside building right in the middle of downtown Orlando. The Wonderworks museum on International Drive is housed in an upside down building that looks like it was dropped on its roof by a tornado. The fun and games continues inside the doors as the museum is a hands-on science museum where you can learn through play. (Photo: January 4, 2008)

Today the nation observes Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day in which we honor those who have sworn to protect and serve us. President John F Kennedy declared May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day by presidential law in 1962. In a proclamation by President George W Bush he proclaimed " Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week pay tribute to the local, State, and Federal law enforcement officers who serve and protect us with courage and dedication. These observances also remind us of the ongoing need to be vigilant against all forms of crime, especially to acts of extreme violence and terrorism." Pictured here is the Law Enforcement Memorial at the American Police Hall of Fame and Museum in Titusville, Florida.
