Porter Contracting at Kimberling Roofing

Englewood, Florida:  The 2014 season of Spring Baseball is nearing a close as we enter the final rotation of games for the season.  In a battle of the basement, Porter Contracting faced off against Kimberling Roofing in their final meeting of the season.  Porter jumped out to a big lead but could not hold off a late game surge by Kimberling Roofing.   Click on the photo to view the gallery of photos from Wednesday night's game .

Built by the Danes in 1679, Skytsborg Tower was used to protect the harbor from invaders. However it gets the name of Blackbeard's Castle from lore that pirate Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard, used the tower as a watchout. Porter Contracting vs USA Steel Fencing

Englewood, Florida: The minors division of Englewood Area Youth Baseball played again on Saturday night at Porter Contracting hosted USA Steel Fencing in a close and exciting game. Both teams exchanged runs early in the close game, but it was USA Steel that struck late for the win. Click on the photo to view the game photo gallery .

Porter Contracting vs USA Steel Fencing

The spring season of Englewood Area Youth Baseball continued under the light of Englewood Sports Complex with a minor division game between Porter Contracting and USA Steel Fencing. Jim Tobul pilots the F4U Corsair “Korean War Hero” in the Florida International Air Show at Punta Gorda Airport. Built in 1945, the “Korean War Hero” did two tours of duty on two carriers resulting in over 200 combat missions. After being retired from the US Navy, the “Korean War Hero” spent ten years in the Honduran Air Force. Jim and Joe Tobul purchased the aircraft in 1981 and after a ten year restoration project, the “Korean War Hero” returned to the skies. (Photo: March 30, 2014)
