A quick launch from Blind Pass and its off to explore the Lemon Bay.  This sheltered bay on the west coast of Florida is a popular place for boating, fishing and kayaking.  The bay is over 8,000 acres in size in Charlotte and Sarasota County. The aquatic preserve is fed from the Gulf by Stump Pass and through seven fresh water tributaries.  (Photo: May 24, 2015)

Today on Independence Day, we celebrate the birth of our nation.  On July 4, 1776 the United States declared independence from England.  Fireworks celebrations like the one pictured hereat Blind Pass Beach take place across the country to celebrate that milestone in American history.  (Photo: July 4, 2013)
