When it comes to being the leader in air superiority, it takes a team effort to maintain the global effort. That's where Team Robins shines. The airman of Team Robins and the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. They are directly responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of some of the iconic Air Force aircraft like the F-15 Eagle, C-5 Galaxy. C-17 Globemaster III, C-130 Hercules and more.  This effort is on display in the Team Robins exhibit at the Museum of Aviation located on base. The museum spans four buildings and all eras of Air Force aviation. There are over 85 aircraft on display from early gliders to next-gen aircraft.  Taken: December 22, 2014 at Museum of Aviation (Warner-Robins, GA)

Photo of the Day: Super Fly-over for the Super Bowl

Image
The US Air Force teased it a few weeks ago with a simple math equation; B1 + B2 + B52 = Super Bowl 55.  Well the trio of bombers did not disappoint as this year's Super Bowl was opened by a special flyover featured the long range bombers of the USAF.  This was a unique challenger as the bombers did not stay in Tampa, but came from their respective bases across the country.  The B1B Lancer departed Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, The B-52 Stratofortress from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota and the B-2 Spirit from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.  The three bombers rendezvoused with a resident MacDill Air Force Base KC-135 Stratotanker for a quick refueling stop over the Gulf of Mexico before heading over the opening ceremonies of the Super Bowl.  (Photo: February 7, 2021)

Photo of the Day: Always Ready

"We Stand Ready" isn't just a motto on the side of an aircraft, its a way of life for the men and woman of our nation's armed forces. A KC-135 from the Michigan Air National Guard stood ready on the ramp at Southwest Florida International Airport the past few days as crews awaiting their next assignment in the Sunshine State. Photo of the Day: Air Force One

Image
When most people think of Air Force One, they immediately picture the VC-25, a military executive transport variant of the iconic Boeing 747.  But the Air Force One handle is the call sign of any Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States.  Depending on the mission, alternative aircraft may be needed to transport the President.  On this visit to Fort Myers, President Trump flew in the C-32, a military variant of the Boeing 757, due to aircraft limitations at other stops along this leg of his campaign.  (Photo: October 16, 2020)

“Thunderbirds, Let’s Run Them Up!” Those are the orders from the lead pilot of the diamond formation as the US Air Force Thunderbirds take to the skies during their performance. The six ship demonstration team is the third oldest demonstration team in the world. Based at Nellis Air Force Base, the Thunderbirds travel the country showcasing their precision flying before millions of spectators. This photos of the squadron comes from their performance at the 2019 Florida International Air Show in Punta Gorda, Florida. (Photo: November 3, 2019)

Photo of the Day: Close Air Support

The distinct sound if the A-10 Thunderbolt can be a blessing to ground troops or a curse to enemy combatants as it roars overhead of a ground conflict.  Built by Fairchild Republic and entered into service in 1977, the A-10 commonly known as the Warthog is the only aircraft built specifically for close air support of ground troops and equipment.  (Photo: May 12, 2018)

A special thank-you goes out to the men and woman who have served our nation's armed forces.  These brave men and woman sacrificed time away from their family to ensure our nation's security and protect our freedoms and liberties.   Your service is appreciated not only on Veteran's Day but each and every day.  Thank you for your service.  (Photo: November 3, 2012)

Designed to be a stealth multirole fighter, the F-35 was designed by Lockheed Martin and is operated by the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corp. The F-35 Heritage Flight Team had a limited schedule this year, performing at just eight shows with the 2017 Florida International Air Show being one of them. The show which kicks off tomorrow is a great chance to see the future of air combat fly alongside their counterparts from the past. (Photo: March 19, 2016)
