When landing on a traditional runway seems to routine and boring what do you do?  Why you land on the top of a moving pick-up truck of course.  That's exactly what Greg Koontz did during his Alabama Boys comedy routine at the 2017 Florida International Air Show this weekend.  During the routine, he landed his Piper Cub on the top of a pick-up truck driving down the runway and then later proceeded to take-off from the same truck.  (Photo: October 14, 2017)

Two generations of fighter jets fly side by side during the F-35 Heritage Flight performed at the 2017 Florida International Air Show.  The propeller driven P-51 Mustang is a World War II era fighter while the F-35 Lightning II is the US Air Force's latest generation fighter.  If you missed the flight yesterday, you can still catch it today on the final day of the show.  (Photo: October 14, 2017)

The future of air superiority, the F-35 Lightning II sits on the tarmac at MacDill Air Force Base. Designed to be a stealth multirole fighter, the F-35 was designed by Lockheed Martin and is operated by the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corp. The F-35 Heritage Flight Team had a limited schedule this year, performing at just eight shows with the 2017 Florida International Air Show being one of them. The show which kicks off tomorrow is a great chance to see the future of air combat fly alongside their counterparts from the past. (Photo: March 19, 2016)

The Class of 45 once again reunites over the skies of Punta Gorda for the 2017 Florida International Air Show.  Both the P-51 Mustang "Quicksilver" and the F4U-4 Corsair "Korean War Hero" rolled off the assembly line in 1945.  Today they travel the air show circuit showing the air superiority that help the United State dominate the skies during World War II and the Korean conflict. You can see the Class of 45 up close at this year's air show which kicks off Friday night at the Punta Gorda Airport. (Photo: March 30, 2014)

Dr Joe Masessa flies the unique OV-Mohawk over the crowd during the 2014 Florida International Air Show. Not only is Masessa's OV-1 the world's only aerobatic demonstration of an OV-1, it is a flying tribute to those who never returned from the Vietnam War. The names of the missing soldiers can be found memorialized on the fuselage of the OV-1. There is no need to adjust your screen as Jim Tobul pilots the F4U-4 Corsair upside down in front of the crowd at the Florida International Air Show.  Tobul's aircraft "Korean War Hero" had a flew over 200 missions for two carrier groups during the Korean Conflict.  Today the aircraft continues to show its versatility on the air show circuit and will be paying a visit to the 2017 Florida International Air Show which kicks off on Friday.  (Photo:  March 30, 2014)

McCart Jet Motorsports "Homewrecker" lights up the night sky during last year's Florida International Air Show. This jet powered Ford F-650 speeds down the runway powered by three jet turbine engines with afterburners. "Homewrecker" will be one of many exciting acts returning to the Florida International Air Show next weekend. Scooter Yoak buzzes the flight line at the 2014 Florida International Air Show in the World War II era P-51 Quicksilver. The P-51 Mustang was a Allied fighter that was used to escort the bombers as well as engage the Luftwaffe during the European theater of war. Yoak will once again be taking to the skies over Punta Gorda in Quicksilver, bringing the workhorse of World War II back to life during the 2017 Florida International Air Show that runs next weekend at the Punta Gorda Airport. When tropical weather threatens it is the job of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron to fly right into danger to perform assessments of the storm to help better prepare those in harm's way. One of these specialized WC-130 Hurricane Hunters will be on display next weekend at the 2017 Florida International Air Show held at the Punta Gorda Airport in Punta Gorda, Florida. Florida High Heat Black vs GCBA Black Sox

Englewood, Florida: The Florida High Heat Black hosted the GCBA Black Sox in round one play of the 2017 SWFL Champions Cup at Englewood Sports Complex. An eight run second inning by the Black Sox proved too much to overcome as the High Heat fell 14-6. The Black Sox set the tempo for the game by reaching the scoreboard first in a big way by pushing across eight runs in the second inning. The High Heat tried to battle back but each time they would score, so would the Black Sox. In the end it was the High Heat falling 14-6, eliminating them from the tournament.
