Photo of the Day: US Capitol Dome

The iconic dome of the United States Capitol glistens in the spring sky.  The dome is the second dome to atop the capitol over it's history and was completed in 1863.  Unlike the rest of the capitol, the dome is constructed of cast-iron and weighs 14.1 million pounds.  (Photo: April 29, 2004)
