Photo of the Day: Drying Out

A cormorant sits in the sun with its wings stretched out to dry at the Venice Audubon Rookery.  The cormorant spends much of the day in the water looking for prey, but can not fly until it's wings are dry.  So they can usually be seen along the banks of the water with its wings spread to dry.  (Photo: November 28, 2014)
