Photo of the Day: Growing Up Buck

A young male Key Deer catches a nap in the foliage of his home at ZooTampa at Lowry Park.  Male deer are known as bucks and they grow their antlers as they age.  The antlers typically begin to grow in the spring of age one and grow larger as they age.  This is a Key Deer, a subspecies of the White-tail Deer only found in the Florida Keys.  (Photo: August 5, 2018)
