Welcome to Tampa, the heart of the Tampa Bay region. Located on the Gulf of Mexico along Florida's west coast, Tampa is the third largest city in Florida. Founded in 1849 near the military outpost of Fort Brooke, Tampa has grown to a city with 2.4 million people living in the metro area. The area has a lot to enjoy from the Cuban culture in Y'bor City, the great eats of SoHo, wild rides at Busch Gardens, wildlife at ZooTampa and championship winning sports teams in the Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Bucs.
