Photo of the Day: The Astronaut Trainer

Designed by the US Air Force to be a supersonic jet trainer, the T-38 Talon has an important role with NASA's astronaut training program as well.  Based out of the Dryden Research Facility in California, the T-38 is used to train astronauts in proficiency and to support critical NASA missions.  This T-38 was seen flying over Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota on final approach to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.  (July 7, 2017)
