Day Two: Bahama Cruise
Following breakfast, we were one of the fist people off the ship. As always, I researched the stop before we left and I downloaded a walking tour of Old Key West. The Pelican Path Walking Tour is a tour of the historic structures located in old town. It has fifty structures on the path that encompasses the oldest part of the city. In addition to these sites, I added a few of the major ones as well including the Southernmost Point, Hemmingway House and Lighthouse. Wow, what a walk, felt like we walked 15 miles by the time we were done.
Aching feet and all, we decided to hop aboard the Conch Train tour and visit the rest of the island. The two hour narrated trip starts in Mallory Square and travels through the entire island, catching a glimpse of what the city has to offer. Once the tour was complete, we browsed the shops in Mallory Square before heading back to the ship.
Back onboard the Majesty, it was pool time. We took advantage of the bulk of the passengers being in port as we enjoyed the almost empty pools. The cool saltwater of the pool was a refreshing end to a long day on the island.
We then headed up to Deck Twelve to watch the ship pull out of port and head back to the open seas enroute to the Bahamas. Once the ship was back out to sea, we went to the Chorus Line Theater to play Win A Cruise Bingo. I helped my wife play six cards with the grand prize being a free cruise for two. With my wife’s luck at bingo, winning twice on the last cruise, we figured it was a good omen and the free cruise was ours, well I must be bad luck because she didn’t come close on any of the games.
We headed back to the room for a little bit to relax and unwind before dinner. Tonight was formal night in the main dining room, so the Windjammer seemed much fuller from those skipping out on the formal attire.
Following dinner, we took our son back to Adventure Ocean. He begged all day to go back to the kids program and tonight was a pirate party. After we dropped him off, my wife and I headed to Casino Royale to play slot machines.
Then we headed back to the Chorus Line Theater to listen to the Captain’s Speech and meet the chief officers onboard the Majesty. Following the speech, we took our spot along Deck Five to watch the Pirate Parade featuring our son.
When the parade was over, we picked him up from Adventure Ocean and headed back to the room for the night.
