Day One: Bahama Cruise
The drive to Miami was long and uneventful as the vast stretch of Alligator is one of the dullest drives in all of Florida. Mile upon mile of Everglades and not much to see. Once we hit the east coast, it was white knuckle driving the remainder of the way to the port as the driving in Miami is crazy, many lanes and a multitude of kamikaze drivers.
As we pulled up to the port, Majesty was the first ship as we crossed over the bridge. Though its not as large as the Voyager class ship we sailed on before, the Majesty was much larger then I anticipated.
Boarding the ship was a breeze. We checked-in online a few days before the cruise and it saved time in the terminal. We walked up to the desk with the signed Sea Pass forms and our documentation and a few minutes later we were on the ship.
Once onboard the ship, we headed to our stateroom. We booked an interior stateroom on Deck Four, room 4037. The room was small but for a cruise this short was sufficient. Our son loved the pull-down bed, his first experience with a bunk bed.
After we dropped off the bags, we headed up to the Windjammer on Deck Eleven. They were serving a buffet lunch while we were still in port. We then preceded to Deck Twelve to watch the ship leave Miami and head into the ocean.
Once the ship hit the Atlantic, we headed to dinner. Not thinking when I was packing, I failed to pack any long pants. I mean who would have thought that on a cruise to the islands, long pants would be needed. But oh well, no big deal, we enjoy the Windjammer just as much so its not big loss.
After dinner we headed to the Chorus Line Theater to watch the Welcome Aboard show. The show featured the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers, the cruise director Ricky and a comedian. The cruise director was great, great sense of humor and delivered a great performance.
Following the show, we headed back to the stateroom to retire for the evening.
