Day Three: WDW Trip November 2007

Beauty and the Beast at Disney's Hollywood Studios.Lake Buena Vista, Florida: Today marked our final day of this trip. The theme park of the day today was Disney Hollywood Studios. We grabbed breakfast this morning at the McDonald’s by the hotel then hopped aboard the WDW bus to the park.

We arrived at the park before opening and found ourselves close to the front of the line for entry into the park. Once the gates opened we began our tour through the studios. The first stop was The Great Movie Ride. It has been several years since I rode this ride and since most of the time it has a large line, we took advantage of being near the front of the crowd to hop aboard with no wait.

The focus of the visit to the studios was to try and hit some of the shows and attractions we normally skip in an effort to get to our favorites. Since we have an annual pass, we rarely do everything in the park, rather mingle new attraction in each time we go in an attempt to experience everything that Disney has to offer. With this in mind, today we visited The Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Chronicles of Narnia and the history of Walt Disney attraction called One Man’s Dream.

After we finished our tour around the Studios. We headed back to the All-Star. Before we left for the day, we took our son to the pool to swim for a little. The entire trip long, he has been asking to go in the pool, so we decided to give him some swim time before we left.

When he finished swimming, we packed up the car and headed to the kennels at Fort Wilderness to pick up the dog. While we were there, we had a late lunch/early dinner at the Trails End Restaurant. I highly recommend this for guest visiting Disney. The restaurant has an all you can eat buffet that features just about anything you can think of. It was definitely worth the money and we will be back again in the future. After the meal we hit the road for the three hour journey home and back to work in the morning.

The trip was a last minute decision and we had a great time. Like I had said earlier, since we have the annual passes, we rarely spend from opening to closing in the parks. Each time we go, we get in early, do what we want to do and throw in a few new attractions and then get out before it gets busy. It is a concept that works real well when traveling with a two year old. As he gets older, I am sure our time spent inside the park will increase but as of right now, it is too rough on him to spend too long in the parks. I see some of these younger kids that were pushed too hard and stayed too long in the parks and they are just miserable, I do not want to put him through that.

Our passes are good until February 2008, we will be back at least another time before the expire. Then I will let them lapse for a while so we do not get burned out of Disney.
