Ripley’s Sightseeing Trains

St. Augustine, Florida: All aboard!!! Hop aboard the red train for an entertaining tour of the nation’s oldest city. Ripley’s Sightseeing Train is your ticket to the history that awaits you in St. Augustine.

Established in 1953, the red train is the oldest motorized tour in the city. They operate a continuous loop tour through the ancient city, making a total of 24 stops all with unlimited off/on privileges. Trains run every 20 minutes, allowing you to hop off and enjoy the sites without having to worry about how you will get to your next attraction.

Here are the stops on the tour as well as some of the nearby major attractions:
  • Stop One (Old Sugar Mill): Old Sugar Mill
  • Stop Two (Welcome Center Train Station): Old Jail, Oldest Store Museum, Antique Carousel and Public Library
  • Stop Three (Parking Garage and Visitor’s Center): St. Augustine Visitor’s Information Center and Playground.
  • Stop Four (City Gates Train Station): Old Drug Store, Huguenot Cemetery and Tolomato Cemetery.
  • Stop Five (St. George Street): Oldest Wooden School House, City Gates and hundreds of shops.
  • Stop Six (Colonial Spanish Quarter): Colonial Spanish Quarter and St. Augustine Pirate Museum.
  • Stop Seven (Middle of St. George Street): shops and restaurants.
  • Stop Eight (Flagler Church): Flagler Memorial Presbyterian Church, Grace United Methodist Church and Ancient City Baptist Church.
  • Stop Nine (San Sebastian Winery): San Sebastian Winery tours.
  • Stop Ten (Whetstone Chocolate Factory): Whetstone factory tours.
  • Stop Eleven (Villa Zorayda): Villa Zorayda and Flagler College.
  • Stop Twelve (Lightner Museum): Lightner Museum, City Hall, Flagler College and Casa Monica.
  • Stop Thirteen (Dow Museum): Dow Museum of Historic Homes.
  • Stop Fourteen (City Plaza): Government House, Potter’s Wax Museum, Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine and Trinity Parish.
  • Stop Fifteen (Spanish Military Hospital): Spanish Military Hospital Museum, Ximinex-Fatio House, Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum and Convent and Historic Aviles Street shops.
  • Stop Sixteen (Oldest House): Oldest House Museum, Old St. Francis Barracks and St. Augustine National Cemetery.
  • Stop Seventeen (City Marina): harbor tours, Bayfront Mini-Golf and Anastasia Island shuttles.
  • Stop Eighteen (Castillo de San Marcos): Castillo De San Marcos National Monument.
  • Stop Nineteen (Ripley’s): Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum.
  • Stop Twenty (Mission Nombres de Dios): Great Cross of St. Augustine and Mission church.
  • Stop Twenty-One (Old Senator): Old Senator live oak tree and Magnolia Avenue.
  • Stop Twenty-Two (Fountain of Youth): Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.
  • Stop Twenty-Three (Old Jail): Old Jail and Oldest Store Museum.
  • Stop Twenty-Four (Fort Menendez): Fort Menendez at Old Florida Museum.
In addition to the daily sightseeing tours, they also offer specialty tours. These include a black history tour, a Christmas lights tour and the popular Ghost Train Adventure.
