Photo of the Day: Ready to Charge

This little gator lies on the bank, just waiting to charge our kayak as we passed by.  This photo is just a tease of what's to come over the next few days as I work through the several hundred photos taken on our 9-mile journey down the Hillsborough River.  (Photo: January 1, 2016)

    1. Yes, it was. It got my heart pumping a bit when it came into the water and towards the kayak. But it was a great experience being one with nature.

i have a friend that is in the water with them in a kayak at Myakka all the time...he swears they are only curious. I won't go in the water ...I love them and respect them...but I feel safer on dry land.

    3. That is our next adventure. Myakka River is our home park. On the drive home, the family said we got our feet wet with freshwater kayaking, next up is Myakka.

My husband and I are long time Myakka River State Park fans. We are there on average three times a week. Our favorite place to hike the trails.
