Happy New Year: A Look Back at 2015 from Donten Photography

Happy New Year from Donten Photography!

2015 was a great year for the website, while I did not have money to do any travelling like last year, we did manage to get a bunch of local stuff photographed. It was also a big year for me in print photography, as my works have appeared in several new places resulting in new exposure for the site and my work.

Unfortunately, lack of finances really put a hamper on my ability to cover new places. So I focuses a lot on stuff that really didn’t cost much including nature photography and aviation photography. We spent a lot of time hiking, kayaking and even tried geocaching.

My aviation photography continues to be one of the most popular subject to appear on Donten Photography. Over a third of the visitors to the site are here to my aviation photography.

I also expanded my baseball portfolio as over the summer I was asked to join 27 Outs Baseball as a photographer. As a result, I attended a few more games as in past season. In addition to shooting professional baseball, I still photographed Englewood Youth Baseball and also a few games for the Sarasota Shock travel baseball club.

This year provided new experiences for me when it comes to published work. My photography was used to create the 2015 Team Baseball Card set for the Charlotte Stone Crabs, a big highlight for me both as a baseball fan and a card collection. I also had a photo of mine appear in the December 2015 edition of Air Forces Monthly magazine. In addition to these, I have had works published in the Stone Crabs game program (including the cover for April 2015), the Sun Herald newspaper and various websites including Major League and Minor League baseball’s official website.

The website traffic continues to grow as we surpassed the 5 million visitor mark. At the end of the year, 5,485,987 visitors have come to check out the photography and read the stories on the site.

As you can see, despite the inability to travel, 2015 was still a big year for us at Donten Photography. While I can’t guarantee anything big in 2016, I promise I will continue to keep providing the quality content you have come to know.

From my family to yours, I wish you a happy and healthy New Year.
