Photo of the Day: Titanic the Experience

The grandest ship of her time, the RMS Titanic was the largest and most luxurious ocean liner in the early 1900's. The Titanic set forth on her maiden voyage from Southampton on April 10, 1912 with 2,240 passengers onboard. On the way to New York, the voyage took a tragic turn as the ship struck an iceberg and sank 400 miles south of Newfoundland. 1,514 people lost their lives that night due to the frigid waters of the North Atlantic. The photo here is a re-creation of a first class suite at Titanic The Experience in Orlando. (Photo: September 20, 2003)
