Around the World in Pictures: Year Two

Another year has come and gone, its amazing how quickly time flies. Around the World in Pictures has put the finishing touches on its second year of bringing you great photos and stories from our travels.

The past year saw some changes to the site in an attempt to keep things new and fresh. I added a photo of the day and a cruise deal feature to the site to keep things exciting when I do not have new travels to write about. The photo of the day feature is a random photo chosen out of my photo archive along with a brief story about the subject of the photo. The cruise deal feature is courtesy of Dick Gothner of Skyscraper Tours and features great cruise deals. The addition of these two features will hopefully fill the gap between new content.

This year we switched our annual passes from Universal Orlando to Walt Disney World and made a few trips up to the house of the mouse. However with the sluggish economy, the travel budget has not been there so we did not have a real vacation this year. We did purchase a tent and enjoyed a few weekend camping adventures within the state parks. The remainder of the coverage of the year resulted from our tickets to the Stone Crabs minor league baseball as well as local special events and parades.

I am unsure of what next year has in store for the site. I know for certain you can expect to see more Charlotte Stone Crabs coverage and coverage of this year's Florida State League All-Star Game as it is being held in Port Charlotte in 2012. We have a long weekend trip planned for Veteran's Day weekend as we head to St. Augustine, our first time visiting America's oldest city. And I believe we will be extending our Disney annual passes another year as we anticipate the opening of the new Fantasyland in 2012. Other then that, we will have to wait and see what 2012 has in store for Around the World in Pictures. I have a few ideas floating in my heads, just have to see if they become reality.

A steady stream of visitors continue to stop by the site. We have had over 22,000 visitors visit the site and amazing 820,901 visitors to the photo galleries. They are visiting the 515 articles that have been written so far as well as the 10,867 photos that are currently published online.

Visiting the Florida Holocaust Museum: A Powerful and Reflective Experience
