A symbol of American freedom, the Statue of Liberty has stood tall in New York harbor for over 120 years. A gift to the United States from France, the statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Lady Liberty stands tall as a symbol of freedom and democracy, something that so many early immigrant sought in America. (Photo: August 28, 2005)
