Epcot: World Showcase-France Pavilion
Lake Buena Vista, Florida: Across the World Showcase Lagoon lies a quaint neighborhood filled with fountains and French shops. Although it might feel like a busy Paris neighborhood, it is actually the France Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase.Opened in 1982 with the grand opening of World Showcase, the France pavilion is a authentic replica of a Paris neighborhood. There are luxurious French boutiques, bistros and the Eiffel Tower in the background. The staff of the pavilion even have a French influence, helping to authenticate the experience, it doesn’t take long to forget you are in Central Florida.
The only attraction of the pavilion is the film Impressions de France. The 18 minute film takes you on a tour of France from the major cities to the country with all the major attraction in between. The film features close to fifty French landmarks.
Since the main goal of World Showcase is to allow you to experience the culture of other countries, it is only fitting that the pavilion be home to unique French restaurants. These include:
- Bistro de Paris: full service restaurant featuring elegant French dining.
- Boulangerie Patisserie: counter service restaurant featuring French pasties.
- Chefs de France: full service restaurant with authentic French cuisine.
- Caricature Stand: artist created caricatures.
- La Signature: perfumes and cosmetics.
- Les Vins de France: wines and accessories.
- Plum et Palette: designer fragrances.
- Souvenirs de France: French souvenirs.
