Downtown Disney: Dining

Lake Buena Vista, Florida: Downtown Disney is the entertainment complex of the Walt Disney World resort and features a collection of shopping, dining and nightlife to help enhance the theme park experience. One thing that continues to draw visitors to Downtown Disney is its large collections of restaurants.

Downtown Disney features a diverse selection of dining options. From quick snacks to formal meals, there is something for everyone in the family. Many of the restaurants located here feature excellent food combined with great theming, making them attractions themselves.

The restaurants can be broken down into two categories; counter service and full service. Counter service is where you order your food and seat yourself, similar to a fast food restaurant. Full service is a traditional style restaurant where a waiter or waitress serves your party.

You will find the following counter service restaurants at Downtown Disney:
  • Candy Cauldron: snacks and candy.
  • Cooke’s of Dublin: fish and chips.
  • Earl of Sandwich: sandwiches and salads.
  • Food Quest: pizza, pasta and snacks located inside Disney Quest.
  • Ghirardelli: chocolate and ice cream.
  • McDonald’s: the famous Golden Arches famous world wide.
  • Wetzel’s Pretzels: pretzels and ice cream.

The following full service restaurants are located at Downtown Disney:

  • Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant: seafood and chicken.
  • Bongos Cuban Café: Cuban cuisine created by Gloria Estefan.
  • Fulton’s Crab House: seafood and crab specialties served on a vintage steam ship.
  • House of Blues: Cajun cuisine, burgers and sandwiches served up with a side of Blues.
  • Planet Hollywood: steak, seafood, pasta and sandwiches in a restaurant inspired by Hollywood memorabilia.
  • Portobello: Italian cuisine, pizza and pasta.
  • Rainforest Café: one of the more popular restaurants in the resort serving beef, pork, chicken, sandwiches and more in a themed rainforest environment.
  • Raglan Road: Irish pub.
  • T-Rex Café: American cuisine served by a host of animatronics dinosaurs.
  • Wolfgang Puck’s Café: California cuisine inspired by the famous chef.
Disney passholders can get a discount of 10% on some of the restaurants listed above. This area can get very crowded with long lines in the evenings and during peak meal times, many of the restaurants offer reservations to help ease the wait.

The face of Downtown Disney is constantly changing. New restaurants open regularly while others close. So make sure to check and see what is available for your travel.
