The Wandering Disciple: A Journey of Faith Through Creation


There’s something about standing at the edge of a mountain overlook or watching the sun rise over a quiet stretch of coastline that stirs something deep within the soul. For years, that feeling has been the foundation of my work through Donten Photography—capturing moments of beauty, adventure, and the raw wonder of the natural world. But along the way, something greater became clear: these moments were never just about the places themselves. They were about the Creator behind them.

That realization is what gave life to The Wandering Disciple.

This isn’t just a rebrand or a new project—it’s a new direction. A step forward in faith. A commitment to not only explore the world, but to walk through it with intention, guided by God’s presence in every step of the journey.

Travel has always been about discovery. New landscapes, new perspectives, new stories waiting to be told. But as this journey continues, it has become something deeper—a way to draw closer to God by experiencing His creation firsthand. From towering mountain peaks to quiet forest trails, from crashing ocean waves to still, reflective waters, each place reveals a glimpse of His power, creativity, and peace.

Photography, then, becomes more than just capturing an image. It becomes an act of worship.

Each frame is a moment of gratitude. Each landscape is a reminder that we are part of something far greater than ourselves. In a world that often feels rushed and noisy, these quiet encounters with nature become sacred spaces—places where we can pause, reflect, and reconnect with God.

The Wandering Disciple is built on that foundation.

It carries forward the same passion and visual storytelling that defined Donten Photography, but with a renewed purpose—to share not just where the journey leads, but what God reveals along the way. It’s about finding Him in the details: the light breaking through the trees, the path winding through the wilderness, the stillness of a morning untouched.

This journey isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about walking faithfully, even when the path is uncertain. It’s about trusting that every step, every mile, and every moment has meaning when placed in His hands.

Through this platform, my hope is to inspire others to see the world differently—to look beyond the surface of a beautiful view and recognize the Creator who designed it. To embrace both the adventure of travel and the quiet strength of faith. To wander not aimlessly, but with purpose.

Because in the end, the greatest journey we can take isn’t just across landscapes—it’s the one that draws us closer to Him.
