Summer Road Trip: Day Five
Asheville, North Carolina: The final day of our trips are always bittersweet, you say good-bye to the amazing adventures of your trip but return home to your friends and family back home. While I would have loved to stay in the mountains and escape from reality a little more longer, life back home was calling and we needed to answer the call.
Today was a very uneventful day in terms of the past four days. Today was spent in the car from 12 hours driving back to the sunshine state. We got to take back life long memories made in these great mountains to share with friends and family and in the days to come you readers as well.
Over the course of the past four days, we traveled almost 2,000 miles and crossed 5 states. We got to see some amazing sites while we were in town but we only scratched the surface at what the Asheville area has to offer. My wife had made a comment last night that still sticks to me as I write this, Asheville was the first vacation that she wasn't in a hurry to head home, she felt like she was already home.
Its really hard to pick one thing that really stood out from the trip. Each thing we did during the trip was special in its own way and I would have no problem retracing our steps in the future and encourage you to consider visiting some or all of the great places we highlighted.
I have a lot of work these next few days and weeks to bring these adventures to life for you. I have several thousands of photos to process as well as articles to write. Keep checking back for more from the trip.
