Photo of the Day: Wild and Scenic

Designated a wild and scenic river by Florida legislature, the Myakka River slowly flows from northern Manatee county to Charlotte Harbor with much of the river being undeveloped leaving visitors to take a glimpse of what life in Florida was once like.  The easiest way to explore the wild and scenic Myakka is at Myakka River State Park where 12 miles of the river flow through the park boundaries.  (Photo: December 27, 2015)
