Wildlife Report: Gasparilla Island State Park

Boca Grande, Florida: We took a leisurely Sunday drive to Boca Grande to spend a couple hours at the beach at Gasparilla Island State Park. We headed out to the lighthouse and set up at the point. The shorebirds were plentiful. I had a great time watching a snowy egret digging for sandfleas along the surfline.

Here is a collection of what we saw:

  • Anhinga
  • Brown Pelican
  • Double-crested
  • Cormorant
  • Franklin's Gull
  • Laughing Gull
  • Osprey
  • Ring-billed Gull
  • Royal Tern
  • Snowy Egret
