Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center

Kissimmee, Florida: Located in the heart of the Central Florida tourism district, Gaylord Palms is a elegant resort that is an attraction itself. Inside the glass atrium of the resort, guests can travel the state from historic St Augustine to the southernmost city of Key West without ever leaving the resort.

Opened in 2002, Gaylord Palm is located just outside Walt Disney World and is just a short drive to Sea World and Universal Orlando. It features over 1,400 guest rooms of which 106 are suites. The resort also has 400,000 square feet of meeting space making it the largest convention center in Osceola County. So much attention has been placed it making the resort resemble Floridian landmarks. Three distinct areas are re-created including St Augustine, the Everglades and Key West.

St Augustine is the largest of the three atrium. It features a replica of Castillo de San Marcos which had a collection of treasures recovered from a Spanish galleon. Next to the fort is Gator Spring, which is home to a collection of American Alligators on loan from Gatorland. Market Square is a collection of shops built to resemble Flagler College and it’s iconic bell tower. The St. Augustine atrium is also home to the wedding gazebo, Fountain of Youth and more.

As you enter the Key West atrium, you pass through a replica of Mallory Square. One you pass through the market, you see the large saltwater aquarium that makes the atrium feel like the Keys. The 160,000 gallon aquarium is home to Stingrays, Redfish, Snook and Tarpon. Docked in the lagoon is the SS Gaylord which has been transformed into Sunset Sam’s restaurant. The Key West atrium also features many more icons fro Key West including the Southernmost Point marker, sand sculptures, and the fish docks.

Then take a stroll through the swamp in the Everglades atrium. Here the wilderness of the Glades are brought to Central Florida. The trails lead through the rustic area featuring giant cypress trees and swampy waters. Deep inside the atrium you will find a cabin featuring exhibits of four native snakes. Deep in the swamp is where you will find Relâche Spa and Salon, a full service spa. One of the most popular places is the Cypress Spring Water Park.

Located outside the Everglades atrium, Cypress Springs features a zero entry pool, water play structure and a kiddie pool. It is home to nightly swim-in movies, pool parties and more. If you want to get away from the little ones, visit the South Beach adult only pool nearby.

Gaylord Palms features several great dining choices as well. From American fare to sushi and everything in between, you can find it all at the many dining choices on the property.

With so much to see and do, there is almost no reason at all to leave the resort. But if you do, rest assured that Gaylord Palms proximity to all the tourist destinations will have you where you need to be at no time at all.

  1. Glad to see such a royal location of this beautiful centre. Went to a house warming party arranged by my colleague at one of the famous convention center few months back. Liked the attentive services provided by the caterer's staff and food was of best quality. Wishing many more good occasions of celebrations for her.
