To honor aviation history in the United States, President Franklin D Roosevelt declared August 19th as National Aviation Day. Named in honor of the birthday of aviation pioneer Orville Wright, National Aviation Day is a chance to look back at the history of flight from a hill in North Carolina to the high speed supersonic jets of today.
