Islands of Adventure: Toon Lagoon
Toon Lagoon is geared towards water rides, two of the parks three major water attractions are found here. In addition to the rides, there is also a few restraraunts and shops to round out the experience.
Dominating the skyline of Toon Lagoon is Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls. The ride is one of the original rides of Islands of Adventure. The seven minute flume rides follows Dudley on his quest to capture Snidely Whiplash and save Nell Fenwick. Follow the plot through twists, turns and even a 75 foot plunge to see if Dudley can once again save the day.
If you are looking to cool off from the hot Florida heat, Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges is the answer for you. Guests embark on a relaxing river ride until Bluto switches the signs and sends the raft into the rapids. From there the whitewaters take you through waterfalls and large waves, ensuring that no one on board remains dry.
Next to the Bilge-Rat Barges is Me Ship, The Olive. It is an interactive children’s playground built to resemble Popeye’s ship. Like much of Toon Lagoon, it takes on a wet theme, featuring water cannons and fountains. Kids can try their luck with the cannons, seeing if they can soak the riders of Bilge-Rat Barges as they pass by.
Toon Lagoon features a stunt show to also entertain guests. Mat Hoffman’s Aggro Circus is a seasonal show that began in March 2010. The BMX and skateboard stunt show is hosted by Mat Hoffman and appears during peak hours like spring break and summer.
In addition to thrills, Toon Lagoon has three counter service restraraunts to help cure the hunger. The restraraunts and the foods they serve are:
- Comic Strip Café: burgers and dogs, fried chicken and fish.
- Blondies: home of the Dagwood.
- Wimpy’s: burgers.
There are also a few shopping choices in Toon Lagoon. They include:
- Betty Boop Store
- Gasoline Alley
- Toon Extra
